Sweet potato fries from a hot air fryer (sweet)
If you're looking for a quick, healthy sweet potato recipe that you can make with just a few ingredients, sweet potato fries from a hot air fryer are the perfect choice. This popular recipe is becoming increasingly popular not only because of its simplicity, but also because of its unique combination of flavors that will delight your taste buds.
Sweet potatoes are a great ingredient in healthy cooking. They are rich in fiber, vitamins A and C, and minerals such as potassium. These nutritionally valuable potatoes are an excellent part of your diet, especially if you care about healthy living. Their natural sweetness can be beautifully combined with various spices and ingredients, making them a valuable and versatile ingredient.
Preparing sweet potato fries in a convection fryer is not only easy, but also very quick, and they can also be prepared in a conventional oven at the same temperature and convection setting—however, in this case, they will need to bake a little longer. This method of preparation is therefore ideal for those who want to reduce their fat intake but don't want to give up their favorite fried foods. I recommend coating the potatoes in walnut oil, mainly because of its flavor.
In this recipe, we will focus on a sweet version of sweet potato fries, which can serve as a healthy alternative to dessert or as a delicious snack when you're craving something sweet but healthy. Sweet potato fries with cinnamon are a pleasant sweet way to enjoy them. These fries are super easy to make and even your kids will love them.
Ingredients
- 2 small sweet potatoes (300 g total)
- 20 ml nut (or other) oil
- 2 tsp xylitol (or cane sugar) (I recommend this one)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 200 degrees.
- You can peel the potatoes, but it's not necessary.
- Cut the potatoes into strips to make fries.
- Place them in a bowl with 10 ml of oil and mix them so that the fries are evenly coated.
- Place the fries in the hot air fryer and bake for 15-18 minutes, stirring them halfway through baking. The fries can overlap, but they should not fill more than half of the fryer.
- After baking, place the fries back in the bowl and add the rest of the oil.
- Add xylitol or another sweetener and cinnamon and mix so that the fries are evenly coated.
- Ideally, serve while still warm.
