Smoothie is a great way how to supply your body with a good dose of vitamins, minerals, and fiber to support its immunity, especially in damp and chilly times of a year. Even though smoothie is something we mainly think of during hot summer, it is particularly beneficial for the health maintenance and overall vitality in fall and spring. Thus try, for example, this tasty tropical smoothie for immunity.

There is a great many of smoothie recipes, you can really add in anything, up to your imagination, so be sure also try this combination with orange, mango, banana and spinach. Tropical fruits will be complemented by the distinctive taste of ginger, which offers all sorts of benefits to our health. In addition to digestion support, it also lowers blood sugar, has anti-inflammatory effects, gives the body a rich dose of antioxidants, and alleviates menstrual pain.

If you want to enrich this healthy tropical smoothie for immunity with a source of protein while achieving a creamy consistency, you can use plain yogurt (preferably Greek yogurt) instead of water. 1 serving of this smoothie contains up to:

Vitamin A: 116% RDA Vitamin C: 200% RDA Folic acid: 40% RDA Manganese, Vitamin B6: 30% RDA Copper: 15% RDA Riboflavin: 15% RDA Thiamine: 15% RDA Vitamin E: 13% RDA Iron, Calcium: 10% RDA Phosphorus, Niacin: 6% RDA

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges
  • 1 banana
  • 1 mango
  • 2 cm (0.4 in) ginger
  • 1 cup water (or plain yogurt)
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) fresh baby spinach

Instructions

  1. Clean, wash and cut the fruit into smaller pieces.
  2. Wash spinach properly under running water.
  3. Blend all the ingredients together along with water or yogurt in a blender (I recommend this one) , until smooth.
  4. The smoothie tastes best if served immediately.
