Skinny Gluten-Free Cabbage “Gnocchi”

With this recipe, you will learn how to perform a magic trick. Abracadabra, conjure cabbage gnocchi without gnocchi :) In this recipe, traditional pasta gnocchi is substituted with cabbage. Thanks to that, we easily create tasty and at the same diet food full of micronutrients without flour.

Cabbage gnocchi has excellent antioxidant potential thanks to the cabbage, they are full of nutrients and its cooked form is even easier to digest and even tastier for somebody. In addition, this food is enriched with a fresh and sweet taste of grated apple and fruit, completed with nutritious nuts and strengthened by calcium and proteins, represented by quark.

The low calorie delicacy in the form of cabbage gnocchi will fill you up and you will certainly enjoy its taste. At the end, sprinkle the full plate of this yummy dish with your favorite coconut, poppy seeds or other sprinkle. Try this diet cabbage gnocchi with poppy and quark or in a savory way - with cottage cheese or quark with a pinch of salt. Various interesting combinations can be created out of it.

It is a fresh, light, healthy and quick recipe, also suitable during autumn days when the cabbage season is underway. This skinny gluten-free cabbage gnocchi is a great way to incorporate more cabbage in a tasty form into your healthy diet menu.

Ingredients

  • ½ head cabbage
  • 1 apple
  • 40g (1.4oz) milled nuts (I recommend these)
  • 100g (3.5oz) quark
  • 2 Tbsp honey (I recommend this one)
  • cinnamon
  • fruit/nuts/shredded coconut/poppy seeds (optional)
  • raisins/cranberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut cabbage finely and cook in boiling water for approximately 7 to 10 minutes, until tender.
  2. In a bowl, mix cabbage with grated apple, cinnamon, honey, and serve sprinkled with nuts, quark, or other favorite ingredients.
