Strawberry Jelly Mousse

The strawberry season is in full swing, so it would be a shame not to use them in a healthy and refreshing dessert. This healthy strawberry jelly mousse is full of protein, low calorie and thanks to gelatin it promotes proper joint function, and additionally, tastes amazing, like a cloud! You can enjoy this healthy and easy dessert throughout whole day and totally with an easy conscience. It even fits into diet and weight loss. And a dessert combined with weight loss, that's something everybody wants, isn't it? ;)

The secret of perfect taste of this strawberry mousse is hidden in the whipped egg whites, which make it an amazingly fluffy. We can also prepare it completely sugar-free, using stevia or protein powder. In this recipe, in addition to strawberries you can also use other popular fruit, preferably raspberries or blueberries.

If you like fluffy desserts like panna cotte, you have to try this jelly mousse, especially during the summer season.It will be finished very fast, even within 10 minutes, and I'm sure that everyone who tastes it will like it. There is nothing like healthy desserts that taste great and are easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 350g (12.3oz) strawberries
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 Tbsp 100% gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of stevia (or protein powder) (I recommend this one)
  • pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Whip the egg whites over steam with a pinch of sea salt to make as firm peaks as possible.
  2. In a blender, blend strawberries together with vanilla extract.
  3. Dissolve 3 tablespoons of gelatin in a 1/4 cup of hot water.
  4. When the gelatin dissolves, fold it into the strawberry mixture and blend again.
  5. Finally, stir the strawberry mixture carefully into whipped egg whites.
  6. Taste the mousse and sweeten with a pinch of stevia (or protein powder) if needed.
  7. Fill little bowls with the mousse and put it to the fridge for at least 5 hours.
  8. Serve it either unmoulded or directly from the bowl and poured with hot fruit.
