Tuna Salad with Tofu and Red Cabbage

Tuna Salad with Tofu and Red Cabbage

Totally easy salad full of protein from 3 ingredients that you can prepare in a few minutes. This tuna salad with tofu and red cabbage is a great meal after training that delivers needed protein to your body and doesn't contain any added sugar. You can enjoy this low calorie salad at any time during the day.

Tuna is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that protect against cardiovascular diseases. It also has a high content of proteins and vitamins B, D, A, selenium, magnesium and phosphorus. It definitely shouldn't be missing in the kitchen because it isn't only healthy and tasty but also useful in many ways - in salads, as a garnish for main courses, or for example, in the production of healthy tuna pizza dough. I always keep some tuna at home, whether in oil or in its own juice. Tuna is perfect for preparing quick fit meals and fills well.

Tofu is another protein-based bomb that fits both sweet and savory foods. It definitely is a versatile food worth to try out. For better taste of this salad, I recommend using baked tofu. It has a more significant and nutty flavor and shifts the whole salad taste to a new level.

Mixing three ingredients will take you about five minutes, but pleasure and a good feeling of this fit salad from tuna with tofu and red cabbage will stay for a long time afterwards.

Ingredients

  • 100g (3.5oz) tuna in own juice (I recommend this one)
  • 100g (3.5oz) preserved red cabbage (homemade or store-bought, sugar-free)
  • 100g (3.5oz) bio tofu

Instructions

  1. Cut tofu into small cubes.
  2. In a bowl, stir it with tuna drained of water and with preserved red cabbage.
  3. Serve the salad right away.
